My name is Austin and I was born in Dallas and live in Houston ,so I feel an obligation to help my fellow Texans find quality car insurance. I have a few insurance companies I can recommend and a few I would stay clear of.
What are they? To make it easy on you I have my best recommendation, get a free no obligation online rate quote from Comparison Market from the link above. CM, has some of the best carriers in the Austin area and their rates are probably among the lowest around town.
The quote is free and there is no obligation to buy anything from anyone. It just takes 5 minutes so see for yourself what you have been missing out on....GREAT RATES!
A few things to consider are:
- Get as high as a deductible as you possibly can, this will reduce your monthly premium. Start a special savings account and make monthly deposits in this "accident fund". The money you save in premium should offset your deductible in the event you have an accident. If you have poor driving habits....make weekly deposits!
- Make sure you have un-insured and or under-insured motorist coverage
- If you are really pinching pennies and drive an older car, you might want to consider just carrying liability insurance coverage and not comprehensive collision coverage. The savings are huge, and if you are a good driver, and don't mind taking this additional risk this is a great option for you.
- Say yes to "rental car coverage" usually $30 a year and well worth it when/if you are ever in an accident and your car is in the shop for weeks!
- Ask about a loss free discount if you have a perfect driving record
- Consider moving other insurance policies to this same carrier. I.E. move your homeowner and health insurance to the same carrier as your auto. Usually there is a discount for doing so if your carrier offers other coverage's besides auto.
